Request an export, then download it within 24 hours.
Request and download an export
- Let pending changes sync, then open Settings → Export & delete account.
- Choose Request data export and verify your identity.
- When the export is ready, choose Verify and download.
- Download the ZIP within 24 hours after it is generated.
- Extract the whole archive and open START-HERE.html in your browser.
What is included
The private ZIP contains structured JSON, a manifest, readable HTML and available stored media from your synced records.
- Changes that have not synced are not included. If sync cannot finish, review the Export last synced data option and its warning.
- Stored encrypted messages and media stay encrypted. Use Export readable messages on a device that can open your chats for readable transcripts.
- Records held by a payment or app-store provider may need to be requested from that provider.
