Cookies and local storage

What’s stored, and what you can turn off.

Essential storage

Operational logs help diagnose service failures. Optional product analytics is a separate choice: it records account-linked page views and feature use only when you allow it.

Keep you signed in and support session security.
Remember preferences and app state.
Keep offline data and changes waiting to sync.

Optional choices

Change product analytics and advertising measurement in Settings → Privacy. You can reject optional measurement and keep using 10k. Location recommendations have a separate choice.

Before clearing storage

Let pending changes sync and make sure you have a working passkey or saved chat recovery code.

Clearing browser or app data can remove unsynced work and the keys this device uses to open encrypted chats. Essential features may stop working until storage is available again.
